Run night audit
Audience: Manager or admin
Objective: Close the business day: review the checklist, roll the date, and leave a clear board for the next shift.
Requires: Night audit permission (admin or manager). You need a network connection. Do not run the roll from an offline queue.
Before you start
- Finish the checkouts you expect to finish today.
- You are on the correct property.
- Night audit is not guest checkout. Check guests out on their folio first.
Steps
- Open Dashboard and note occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR for the day you are closing.
- Open Front Desk (
/front-desk) and stay on Today. You can also open/front-desk?tab=today&focus=night-audit. - Read the Business date card at the top of Today.
- Open Night audit checklist (End of day). It shows the business date and five checks:
- Arrivals not checked in — confirmed arrivals still pending become no-shows when you roll.
- Departures not checked out — guests due out today who are still in-house.
- Open folios - departed guests — folios still open after departure or checkout.
- Open folios (in-house) — open folio count next to the in-house count.
- Housekeeping tasks pending — rooms still awaiting clean.
- If a folio has an outstanding balance, the checklist lists it. Open that folio and settle or note it before you roll. The panel says resolve warnings before rolling when it is not ready. You can still roll; warnings stay visible so the next shift knows what was left.
- Choose Roll business date.
- Read the roll result: new business date, no-shows processed, zero-balance folios auto-closed, and folios flagged for an operator.
Policies for no-show charges live under Policies on that same Today card, which opens Check-in & night audit (/settings/property/policies). A no-show fee of 0 means no automatic no-show charge.
Result
The business date advances for that property. Reporting for the closed day uses the rolled date. The next shift inherits:
- the new business date
- guests still in-house and their open folios
- any no-shows created from confirmed arrivals that were not checked in
- flagged folios that still need a person to act
- housekeeping tasks that were not completed
Run night audit once per property. Switch property, then roll again. Never use the roll as a substitute for Check out.
