Printing setup

Audience: Admin / manager
Objective: Choose a receipt transport that matches your hardware.
Requires: Admin/manager

Steps

1. Open Settings → Property → Thermal printer.
2. Set enabled, paperWidthMm (58 or 80), and transport:
   • bluetooth - Web Bluetooth ESC/POS (Chrome/Edge/Android). Use when the printer pairs but is missing from the OS print list
   • browser - HTML print dialog (default; easiest when the OS lists the printer)
   • download - ESC/POS .bin for vendor utilities
   • server - forwards to a LAN print agent when PRINT_AGENT_URL is configured
3. Click Save printing settings, then Send test receipt.
4. For Bluetooth: pick the printer in the browser Bluetooth dialog (not the system printer list).
5. Train staff: guest bills are English only.

Production recommendation

• 58 mm Bluetooth pocket printers: transport bluetooth in Chrome/Edge.
• USB / Ethernet counters: LAN print agent / QZ Tray-class tool (server), not raw browser WebUSB as the primary path.
