Cookie Notice

How Opseno uses cookies and similar technologies

Last updated: September 6, 2026

1. Introduction

TorpedoWeb LLC ("Opseno", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites and applications to operate securely, remember preferences, and understand product reliability.

This Cookie Notice explains what we use and why. It should be read with our Privacy Notice at /privacy.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and IndexedDB (used for offline queues in supported Opseno apps).

We classify cookies as strictly necessary, functional preference, or optional analytics/marketing when those features are enabled for a deployment.

3. Cookies and storage we use

3.1 Strictly necessary

  • Authentication / session cookies (e.g. opseno_session or configured SESSION_COOKIE_NAME) — keep you signed in securely.
  • Admin session cookies for the Opseno Admin console when used.
  • CSRF / security tokens and related browser protections where applicable.
  • Property / workspace scoping cookies used by the hospitality modules (e.g. active property id).

3.2 Functional preferences

  • Market cookie (opseno_market) — set automatically from visitor IP country so marketing shows India (INR) or rest-of-world (USD) chrome. Not a manual preference.
  • UI preferences that may be stored in local storage (e.g. theme) so the interface remains consistent across visits.

3.3 Offline and device storage

  • IndexedDB / local queues for offline POS, front-desk, or housekeeping flows — required for the offline features you enable.
  • These stores hold operational data you create on the device until synced; they are not third-party advertising cookies.

3.4 Optional analytics or marketing

We do not currently require third-party advertising cookies for core Opseno use. If a specific deployment enables analytics, error monitoring, or marketing pixels, those tools may set their own cookies under their policies. We will update this Notice when such tools are generally enabled.

5. Retention

Session cookies typically expire when you sign out or when the session TTL ends.

Preference cookies may persist for months unless cleared.

Offline IndexedDB data remains until you clear site data or the application purges synced queues.

6. Updates

We may update this Cookie Notice when our technologies change. The "Last updated" date at the top will change accordingly.
